Wines

The quality of the San Marino wine production has increased markedly in recent years thanks to the 'designation of origin label'.
Of the excellent red wines special mention goes to the Tessano Riserva and Brugneto. The white wines include Roncale and for those who love raisin wines there is Oro dei Goti.
Obviously these are only a few of the products produced by the San Marino Winegrowers Consortium.

Designation of Origin and Typicality

Unique, highly valued hand-crafted products, guaranteed by the Republic of San Marino Designation of Origin and Typicality.

In 1995 the Republic of San Marino instated the Designation of Origin and Typicality to safeguard, upgrade and promote artistic and traditional production. Ceramics, copper works, wrought iron, glass and precious metals such as gold and silver, lace, embroidery, painting, wines and cakes are all protected by this designation mark.

Holders of the Designation of Origin and Typicality:

Gastronomy

The local culinary traditions are steeped in the simple, robust flavours of the Romagna region of Italy. All pasta dishes are handmade according to ancient local recipes; the meat entrees, cheeses and cold cuts are the typical products of our land.
And then there is the piadina ... that flat, stone-baked bread, the vestige of the ancient Roman 'mensae' fare.
