Tax free shopping in San Marino
The Republic of San Marino offers foreign visitors the chance for tax-free shopping in various outlets and shopping centres within the country and the old-city centre.
The Republic of San Marino’s tax-free system does not apply to Italian nationals.
How it works:
Tax-free shopping is available to foreign visitors who purchase in participating shops and who spend at least €. 270 with just one receipt.
Payment can only be made by credit card bearing the buyer’s name and accompanied by an identity document (passport or identity card).
At the time of purchase, the shopkeeper deducts the tax-free amount which can vary between 12 and 16%.
