The people of San Marino are big fans and practisers of sport. Visitors to the country can practise a range of different sports starting with Trekking and Free Climbing: various trekking trails are available that take from one to five hours to cover. Lots of “trim trails” are also available together with five equipped wall faces for Free Climbing. In San Marino there are also two riding-schools, offering lessons and rides through the woodland. Cycling has always been a popular sport in the Republic, which has always attracted cyclists. There are seven road routes and one off-road route. Several hotels offer a bicycle recovery service. Swimming also has its temple, the Olympic swimming pool, open 7 days a week in the Multieventi Sport Domus, a recently-built sports centre. For flying enthusiasts, there are various hang-glider launch points, while the Torraccia air-field caters for private planes and the Aeroclub organises flying courses with issuing of tourist licence, and offers tourist flights and an air taxi service. Clay-pigeon shooting fans can count on a modern shooting facility. Though necessarily outside the country, sailing is also practised and the San Marino Yachting Club organises a series of courses centred on Rimini harbour.
