San Marino celebrates the World Tourism Day

World Tourism Day - "Sustainable Tourism: a tool for development"

World Tourism Day will be celebrated on 27 September, with the theme “Sustainable Tourism: a tool for development”.
All the member countries are to organize a variety of initiatives on this day, which is also an invitation to tourist operators, tourists and local communities to manage our cultural heritage in a responsible way in order to preserve it for future generations.

Free entrance to the exhibitions
Moon Rocks - State Museum, Pergami Belluzzi Palace. Exhibition of lunar fragments and documents kept at the State Museum, State Archive, as well as of correspondence dating back to the years 1972/1974 kept in the archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Arcobaleno '900  - State Museum, Pergami Belluzzi Palace - Tribute to the greatest exponents of the Italian painting of the last century, Guttuso, Capogrossi, Maccari, Brindisi, Fontana and many others, with works created between 1945 and 1968 and coming from the collections of the National Museum of Abruzzo and the Modern Art Gallery of Cento.
Opening hours: every day from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

San Marino’s restaurants will cook special dishes inspired by nature and local traditions with raw materials obtained from rational exploitation of the territory. You can buy customised tourist packages including accommodation, board and dinner with San Marino’s products and a special guided tour dedicated to World Sustainable Tourism Day.

LAND, WATER, STONE guided tour
During this guided tour you can experience the link between San Marino’s people and the landscape of Mount Titano, which has influenced their evolution in time. Through anecdotes, traditions and historical events, our guests will find out how San Marino’s people have been interacting with their territory and how the latter has marked the development of the community.
Free of charge. Meeting point: Piazzale Domus Plebis at 10.00.

First level excursion of about 5 Km organised by “La Genga”. Open to everybody. Meeting point: Ex tiro a volo di Murata at 15.50. Itinerary: hike in the woods along the slopes of Mount Titano, visit to Tanaccia prehistoric sanctuary, the Three Towers and State Museum. Return to Murata at about 19.00. Suitable walking footwear required. Free of charge.
