World Tourism Day
Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to redesign tourism
World Tourism Day is celebrated every year on 27 September with an ad hoc theme and all member countries of the World Tourism Organization will celebrate it with various initiatives.
The theme chosen for the 2026 edition is Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to redesign tourism, an invitation to tourism institutions to confront a transformation that no longer belongs to the future but has become present: that imposed by artificial intelligence.
In compliance with the theme launched by the United Nations, for World Tourism Day the Secretariat of State for Tourism will publish a video in which the Treno Bianco Azzurro passes through a San Marino of the future, imagined and drawn by artificial intelligence. A deliberately futuristic representation that, however, does not ignore values such as accessibility and sustainability, openness to innovation to enhance history. The video alternates historical images of the inauguration of the Rimini-San Marino Railway with contemporary footage, projecting us into a future where train travel becomes a metaphor for the route that awaits tourism in the Republic of San Marino.
On the occasion of World Tourism Day in San Marino:
Travel on the Treno Bianco-Azzurro
Just as then, the train Conductor will talk to the drivers with whistle and flag, giving the official start to the journey during which the history of the railway will be told.
