Pedini Amati at FITUR 2022

Inauguration of the important tourist event in Madrid

San Marino, 19 January 2021 - The Minister of Tourism Federico Pedini Amati is in Madrid today to participate in FITUR, one of the most important tourism fairs in the world, which is back to be experienced in attendance after the restrictions of the past years.

The event opened with the greeting of King Felipe VI of Spain to over 30 Ministers of Tourism present at the event. For the San Marino Minister, the occasion was useful to hold a conversation with his counterparts in Portugal, Jordan and Tunisia.

The day continued with the inauguration of the Italian stand where, thanks to bilateral agreements in the tourism sector, the Republic of San Marino also finds space. The Italian Ambassador to Spain Riccardo Guariglia and the President of ENIT - National Tourism Agency, Giorgio Palmucci, also participated in the ribbon cutting, together with Minister Federico Pedini Amati.

During the morning, the President of Alpitour Gabriele Burgio and the Europe Director of the United Nations World Tourism Organization UNWTO Alessandra Priante visited the San Marino spaces. Alessandra Priante has guaranteed for some time a relationship of great collaboration with the Republic of San Marino and she is among the first supporters of the TTT project.

Federico Pedini Amati: “First of all we must underline how such an important event for the world of tourism is once again held in attendance after two really difficult years. As we have reiterated several times, the health emergency has hit the tourism sector more than any other economy sector but here, today, I am feeling the right optimism from colleagues from other nations and operators of the system that I was able to meet".
