"Sacred Pop Icons" exhibition by Simone Legno.
A Sacred and Pop Exhibition in the Office of the Secretariat of State for Tourism.

The exhibition of Simone Legno's sacred pop icons, promoted by the Secretariat of State for Tourism of the Republic of San Marino in collaboration with the Dicastery for Evangelization, builds on the legacy of Expo Osaka 2025, an experience that transformed institutional and cultural relationships into a tangible and vital legacy of collaborations destined to continue beyond the conclusion of the Universal Exposition.

During the Universal Exposition, Simone Legno designed the mascots for the Italian, San Marino, and Santa Sede Pavilions, creating a visual language capable of uniting diverse identities through shared values.
The "Sacred Pop Icons" exhibition reinterprets these values and is also part of the celebrations for the eight-hundredth anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi (1226-2026).

Simone Legno's works reinterpret sacred iconography with a pop, immediate, and universal language. They are not intended to replace tradition, but rather to offer a new interpretation that speaks to everyone, particularly younger generations and those approaching the great symbols of the Christian faith for the first time. Through colors, essential shapes, and a contemporary aesthetic, these icons demonstrate how the evangelical message can remain relevant and understandable, transcending cultural, linguistic, and generational barriers.

The exhibition will be open to the public daily from 10.00 to 18.00 and until 23.00 in occasion of "Thursday in the Center".
