Museum of Optical Illusions
between art and science
The Museum of Optical Illusions between Art and Science is an exhibition with innovative proposals including the hyper-technological selfie-illusions that allow you to enter a magic, a cartoon or a work of art.
When you observe something, it is the brain that assembles the scenes sent by the retina and the optic nerve: the eyes, however, can see different things with respect to the impulses and thus produce contradictory images remaining in doubt as to which are the real ones. The exhibition focuses on this game by displaying images that seem to be in motion even if they are not, lines that appear curved when in reality they are straight.
Don't miss the installation of the Infinite Well, all to be experienced, and many illusions of perspective, geometry, color, movement.
During the exhibition, visitors will be able to use, via their smartphones and a pair of headphones, a free audio guide that will explain the most salient points of the exhibition.
The Museum is suitable for all ages from 0 to 99 years.
The Optical Illusions Museum is located in the historic center of San Marino in:
- Via Salita alla Rocca n.13 a/b
- Via Basilicius n.18
