Nel Suono della Parola, French choral music between the Baroque and the twentieth century

An evocative musical journey through the history of French sacred music

In the evocative setting of the Basilica of Saint Marinus in the Old Town, the Corale San Marino presents on Sunday 19 May at 21.15 the traditional concert Nel Suono della Parola - In the Sound of the Word which this year will have as its theme Baroque sacred music between the Neapolitan and Venetian schools; an evocative musical journey around three Italian composers who have firmly characterized the aforementioned historical period.

The close link between text and music is the leitmotif of the concert that has distinguished the musical event proposed by the Associazione Corale San Marino for many years now.

The programme will touch on musical compositions that unequivocally represent the sacred music of the Italian Baroque: the imprint of Alessandro and Domenico Scarlatti for what concerns the Neapolitan school, and the contribution of Antonio Lotti for the Venetian one, will transport the audience into a world of deep emotions and timeless beauty, accompanied by the elegant melodies and the rich and innovative harmonies with which these authors have contributed to the evolution of music and in particular of the sacred one.

The Corale San Marino will interpret the programme accompanied by the basso continuo represented on the organ by Maestro Alessandro Casali and on the viola da gamba by Maestro Luca Favoni, by the soprano Lorena Chiarelli, under the direction of Maestro Fausto Giacomini.
