What currency is used in San Marino?

The euro is used in San Marino.
After a break of 34 years, San Marino started minting its own currency again in 1972, coining various denominations of the Sammarinese lira, which are much sought after by collectors. Also worth noting is the resumption of the minting of gold coins in 1974; these were legal tender exclusively within the territory.
Since 2002 it has the right to mint euro coins at the Italian Mint showing images of the small Republic on the coin faces. Base metal denominations start from one cent and go up to two euros. For collectors, silver coins of 5 and 10 euros and gold coins of 20 and 50 euros are minted, in addition to scudos.
