Francobolli Dipinti

Marco Ventura

Marco Ventura, a world-renowned illustrator known for his magazine covers for Time and Der Spiegel and for his artist-designed postage stamps, was born in Milan in 1963 and comes from a family of artists. He studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and later at the School of Visual Arts in New York.

Gifted with a clear style and elegant color palette, Ventura has developed an approach based on geometric compositions inspired by the Renaissance and a personal realism tinged with dreamlike suggestions.

Particularly admired for his skill in portraiture, he has received numerous international awards, and his works are now part of prestigious collections such as those of the Vatican Museums and the National Portrait Gallery in London.

The exhibition, curated by Roberto Ganganelli, will present a comprehensive creative journey, showcasing not only the original sketches that became postage stamps for the Republic of San Marino, Italy, the Vatican, and Britain’s Royal Mail, but also previously unseen drawings and sketches, coin models, and a selection of original paintings — offering a journey through the thirty-year career of one of the most distinguished names in Italian and international illustration.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until 22 March 2026.
