According to the viability of the time, Marinus must have gone up the course of the Marecchia River, which flows into Rimini, to then follow one of the main tributaries, the current San Marino torrent, and finally a minor ditch, today called in his honor Rio Re, thus reaching the base of Monte Titano.

After covering the first two stages, from Rimini to the Republic of San Marino, along the steps of Santo Marino, we will continue towards San Leo, the fortified city located on Mount Feretrio, founded by the homonymous saint, friend and travel companion of San Marino. And finally, with the last stage we will reach Pennabilli, bishopric seat of the Diocese, San Marino - Montefeltro.

ISLAND of ARBE

The island of Arbe (Rab, in Croatian) is the symbolic starting point of our pilgrimage.
Right there, where Saint Marinus was born, two plaques have been placed, in Italian and Croatian, announcing the "Cammino del Santo Marino".

Contacts:

The Walk is fully signposted, even if in some sections it overlaps with other itineraries and signs, and you can find different types of signposts.

The signpost that you will find the most will be a rectangular, white sticker, which shows the pilgrimage logo in the center. This sticker, installed on various supports (light poles, signs, gutters, ...), indicates that you are on the right path and that you must continue along the road you are on.
If there is an intersection, the sticker will be accompanied by an arrow that will point you in the right direction, in order to avoid making mistakes.

Another signage you will come across will be a white aluminum arrow with the pilgrimage logo. This is used at intersections where it is not possible to attach the stickers we have seen previously, or at important or difficult to interpret intersections. This sign is placed on wooden posts.

Last signpost, but not least, is a sticker depicting a bicycle. This, coupled with the sticker depicting the logo of the path and the arrow, indicates a different route for bicycle users, in the stretches where the pedestrian path is not passable with two wheels.
