Great success for the Republic of San Marino at the Madrid International Fair

The leading fair for the Spanish and Latin American tourism market

The 44th edition of Fitur, the Madrid International Tourism Fair, ended last Sunday, with exceptional turnout numbers exceeding 250,000 participants, of which 153,000 professionals and 97,000 general public, with an increase of 13.7% compared to 2023 .

The official press release of FITUR 2024 reveals growing participation numbers with 9,000 companies, 152 countries, 96 official representations (20 more than in 2023), 806 main exhibitors, 9 pavilions, 10 monographic sections for tourism segments—FITUR 4all, TechY, Cruises, Know-How & Export, LGTB+, Language, Screen, Sport, Talent and Women - and the FITURNEXT Observatory, channel for the sustainable commitment of the International Tourism Exhibition.

Media coverage also reflects the positive performance of the fair, with over 37,000 articles published on FITUR 2024 in national and international media, and with the presence of almost 6,800 journalists accredited at the fair, including 6,157 national journalists and 607 international journalists from 53 Countries. Furthermore, in the social field, in the first two days of FITUR there was a growth of 10,602 followers on Facebook, X, LinkedIn and Instagram, reaching a total community of 311,341 followers. The over 860 posts published achieved almost 6.5 million impressions and 83,000 interactions. Finally, it should be noted that FITUR generated a high volume of web traffic with around one million visits.

The Republic of San Marino attended the first trade event of the year with a customized area of ​​40 m2 (Hall 4 stand C16) at the Enit stand. Inside the stand of the Tourism Board there were 7 other San Marino tour operators: Ace Tour, Azimut, Itinerari Viaggi, MayFlower, San Marino Events, The One Viaggi and Titan Travel. Two other operators from the Republic, present with their own stands, contributed to strengthening the San Marino presence in Madrid: Podium Tour Operator and San Marino International.

Spanish people are showing increasing interest in San Marino as a tourist destination and in general in the Italian peninsula. The type of holiday preferred by Spanish is that of discovering the artistic-cultural heritage of our territory. Spanish travellers arriving at San Marino's accommodation facilities in 2023 increased by +27% compared to the same period in 2019.

The next edition of FITUR 2025 in Madrid will be from 22 to 26 January, with Mexico as a partner country.
