Riyadh, tourism capital, San Marino leading the global debate

: Pedini Amati on a mission to promote sector development and innovation

The Minister of Tourism, Federico Pedini Amati, will be on a mission to Riyadh from November 9 to 13 to participate in the 26th General Assembly of UN Tourism (United Nations World Tourism Organization) and the subsequent World Tourism Forum. The mission is designed to strengthen the Republic's position in the international tourism landscape and attract vital partnerships for infrastructure development.
The UN Tourism General Assembly, which brings together delegations and over one hundred Ministers of Tourism from every continent, is focusing this year on the impact of Artificial Intelligence, charting the course for the next half-century of the sector. In this context of global redefinition, the Secretary of State's attention is focused on a series of high-profile bilateral meetings, aimed at translating participation into concrete benefits.
Of primary importance, the agenda includes the solemn signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on tourism cooperation between the Secretariat of State for Tourism, Post, Cooperation, Expo, Information and Tourism Investment Attraction of the Republic of San Marino and the Ministry of Tourism of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The agreement, which will be signed by Secretary Pedini Amati and the Saudi Minister, H.E. Ahmed Al Katheeb, lays the foundation for comprehensive collaboration on issues ranging from joint tourism marketing to the exchange of data and statistics, from sustainable tourism practices to the promotion of mutual investments in the sector. Equally strategic is the dialogue with the leadership of the Saudi Arabian Development Fund (SFD), an ongoing effort to attract financial support for infrastructure investments in the country. The mission will also provide an opportunity for initial contact with the newly elected Secretary General of UN Tourism, Sheikha Nasser of the United Arab Emirates, a crucial diplomatic opportunity to establish a fruitful working relationship for the next mandate. The close network of relations also includes a meeting with her Cuban counterpart, scheduled to provide rapid concrete implementation and operational follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding signed last week. "The Riyadh stage, with its General Assembly and the innovative Tourise Summit, represents the pinnacle of international tourism diplomacy. Through high-level events and meetings, San Marino is consolidating a path of strategic partnerships and attracting infrastructure investments," commented Secretary Pedini Amati. "We cannot simply observe the sector's transformations: our task is to actively participate, shaping a future for tourism that is sustainable, technologically advanced, and capable of generating value for our Republic."  As proof of San Marino's commitment to not being a passive spectator but a leading actor, the Secretary of State will be in Riyadh to participate in the first edition of Tourise. Described as the world's largest discussion forum on the future of tourism, "Tourise" will feature speakers of global prestige. Engaging in these forward-thinking events is essential to acquiring the skills and strategies needed to integrate the new frontiers of digital technology and innovation into San Marino's tourism development plan.
