Religious tourism and sacred art, the sector development project continues

The Minister of State for Tourism presents the initiatives linked to the promotion of the Republic of San Marino as a destination for pilgrimages

San Marino as a pilgrimage destination thanks to its history as a Republic founded by a Saint, its Churches, Monasteries and the routes that are increasingly chosen.

The resolution of the State Congress which established a political-religious coordination table for the development of that specific tourism sector also included dealing with crafts, objects and sacred art.

This morning, at a press conference, the Minister for Tourism Federico Pedini Amati, together with H.E. Andrea Turazzi, Bishop of San Marino and Montefeltro presented some projects which, precisely in response to the initiatives of the coordination table, are seeing the light.

Specifically, the craft works of the Sisters Adorers of the Blessed Sacrament who live at the Convent of San Francesco in the historic center and those of Cristina Rotondaro, a goldsmith who created a series of jewelery dedicated to the figure of Saint Marino, were presented.

The Guide to the Cammino del Santo Marino will soon be presented, which will help pilgrims, walkers and trekkers to navigate the paths of the marked route and will inform them about the local beauties and points of religious interest that can be found along the way.
